Fundamental Fitness & Athletics For Ages 9-11 years - tailored to help progress
These fitness and athletics sessions are tailored to help children progress after developing a strong grounding for their future, no matter what sport they choose. All sessions are led by fully qualified UKA athletics coaches, with a vast amount of experience and knowledge.
Sessions are based around progressing onto more specific training qualities including; agility, balance, co-ordination, endurance, flexibility, speed and strength. We will also include a range of athletic events including, sprints, endurance, hurdles, throwing, jumping and relays. Your child will develop all aspects of their fitness which will improve their overall sporting ability. We also have close links to Reading Athletics Club and Bracknell Athletics Club should your child wish to pursue a more competitive route within Athletics.
Typical session structure
0-10 mins Warm up.
10-25 mins Activity 1- Technique drills.
25-30 mins Water Break
30-45 mins Activity 2- Athletic Event
45-55 mins Cool down and reflection
We are always looking to start new clubs in different areas to make sure all children have a chance to access the training. If your child would be interested in joining our club but you can’t see a suitable location, please let us know where you would like us to start up and if we can get 10 children or more for that area we will happily add an extra session!
Areas we are looking to set up sessions in (not limited to); Bracknell, Burghfield, Calcot, Caversham, Earley, Pangbourne, Reading, Shinfield, Spencers Wood, Sonning, Theale, Tilehurst, Winnersh, Wokingham, Woodley and Yateley.
