Fundamental Fitness & Athletics - designed to help your child develop their sporting standards


Fundamental Fitness and Athletic development centres are based in and around the Reading area. Our aim is to get children involved and enjoying participating in physical activity through fitness and athletics regardless of their ability or background, boosting their sporting standards, confidence and setting the building blocks for a healthy life.

Sessions come in blocks of 10 (once per week for 10 consecutive weeks) and cost a total of £60 (£6 per session). All new athletes will receive one free taster session to make sure they love it before committing to the rest of the course.

Charlotte Webb: Owner and Head Coach – (Lead for Throws)

Charlotte founded Fundamental fitness and athletics in 2019 after coaching the Reading AC Junior club and wanting to extend the offering to younger children. The mission has been to provide top level coaching to every child to help improve not only their sporting ability but the day-to-day lifestyles as well. As an English school’s finalist in the discus, and 7 time Berkshire county champion, Charlotte specialises in the throwing events, and is a level 2 UKA throws coach. She is also a level 3 personal trainer, offering strength & conditioning sessions. Charlotte has won England Athletics Young Coach of the year in 2017 and Reading AC coach of the year in 2018.

Joe Frew: Coaching and Operations Manager (Lead for Jumps and Multi-events)

A national level decathlete, Joe was ranked 3rd in the country at the end of 2021. He is a South of England combined events champion, English schools finalist and 6 time Berkshire county champion. His strongest events are hurdles, long jump and high jump. Joe leads the multi-event classes based at Palmer Park. Joe is a level 2 UKA coach and holds a BSc in Human Biology from Loughborough University specialising in supplemental nutrition and its effects on both cardiometabolic health and sports performance. Joe is a jumps specialist and offers 1 to 1 and S&C sessions in these.

Ibrahim Turay: Lead for Sprints and Hurdles

Fundamental Fitness & Athletics Ibrahim Turay
An international and Olympic sprinter from Sierra Leone, Ibrahim specialises in the sprint and hurdle events. Ibrahim has competed at the highest level including an array of international fixtures such as the 2012 Olympic games in London, the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India, two World Championships, as well as five African Championships. In addition to this he trained at the Senegal high performance centre for two years on an Olympic Scholarship. Ibrahim is a level 2 UKA coach specialising in sprints and hurdles and is a level 3 personal trainer. He runs a range of speed and agility, adult bootcamp and 1 to 1 S&C sessions.

Sprint Sessions


Experience running on the brand-new state of the art track at Palmer Park. These sessions will offer a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to improve their sprinting techniques, race starts, speed, agility and endurance as well as the fundamentals behind it such as strength and conditioning, plyometrics and reactions. Sessions will be intense and will push athletes to the limits. Our sprint sessions are programmed by level 2 UKA coaches, and the delivery is supported by a range of high level current competing athletes.

Ibrahim Turay: Lead Sprints Coach

As lead sprints coach, Ibrahim uses his past in international athletics to programme and oversee all sprint sessions. He is supported by a range of coaches.

Andy Crerar: Sprints Leader

Andy is a Scottish National Champion and Berkshire County Champion across the 400m hurdles. Andy assists the delivery across sprint sessions.

Tobi Ayorinde: Sprints Leader

Fundamental Fitness & Athletics Tobi Ayorinde
Tobi is a Berkshire County medallist in the 100m and 200m. He has clocked sub 11 seconds in the 100m 4 times. He assists sprint session delivery.

Tom Croft: Sprints Assistant

Fundamental Fitness & Athletics Tom Croft
Tom is a Welsh National Champion and Berkshire County Champion over the 110m hurdles. Tom assists the delivery across sprint sessions.

Multi Event Sessions


Be one of the first athletes to run, jump and throw on the new track. These sessions will offer a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to improve their athletic performances across a range of track and field events. Each session offers a variety of different activities including sprints, hurdles, endurance, relays, high and long jumps, hammer throw, discus, shot put and javelin. There will be a mix of technical sessions and game-based play to ensure the sessions remain fun for all! All sessions are programmed by level 2 UKA coaches, and the delivery is supported by a range of high level current competing athletes.

Joe Frew: Lead Multi Events Coach

As lead multi-event coach, Joe uses his over 5 years of coaching experience to oversee the programming and delivery for all multi-event sessions. He is supported by a range of coaches.

Lee Fellows: Multi Events Coach

Fundamental Fitness & Athletics Lee Fellows
Lee is an experienced athlete, coach and PE teacher. Lee currently trains as a heptathlete who loves hurdles but also enjoys longer runs. Lee leads a variety of multi-event sessions.

Sienna Keyte: Multi Events Leader

Fundamental Fitness & Athletics Sienna Keyte
Sienna is a Berkshire County Champion in the hammer. Sienna leads a variety of throwing sessions across our multi-event groups and supports the delivery of other events.

Youssef El-Nager: Multi Events Leader

Fundamental Fitness & Athletics Youssef El-Nager
Youssef is a high-level sprinter specialising in the 400m where he is the Berkshire County Champion. Youssef supports the delivery of running, jumping and throwing events.

Maddy Vietz: Multi Events Leader

Fundamental Fitness & Athletics Maddy Vietz
Maddy is a heptathlete who specialises in high jump, long jump and hurdles. Maddy is a multiple Berkshire County medallist and English Schools finalist. Maddy delivers a variety of multi-event sessions.

Soham Das: Multi Events Assistant

Fundamental Fitness & Athletics Soham Das
Soham is a thrower who has represented England in the hammer, as well as competing to a high level in shot put and discus. Soham leads throwing sessions and supports the delivery of other events.

Georgie Langdon: Multi Events Assistant

Fundamental Fitness & Athletics Georgie Langdon
Georgie is an endurance runner who has won a national medal in the 800m and has represented England. Georgie leads endurance sessions and assists the delivery of other events.

Cecilia Furley: Multi Events Assistant

Fundamental Fitness & Athletics Youssef El-Nager
Cecilia is a heptathlete whose strongest events are hurdles, long jump and triple jump; in these events she is a multiple Berkshire County medallist. Cecilia assists the delivery of multi-event sessions.

Taryn Guthrie: Multi Events Assistant

Fundamental Fitness & Athletics Taryn Guthrie
Taryn is a sprinter and hurdler whose preferred event is the 400m hurdles where he is a Berkshire County medallist. Taryn supports the delivery across our multi-event sessions.

Harry Jameison: Athletics Leader

Fundamental Fitness & Athletics Harry Jameison
Harry is a high-level sprinter over the 100m and 200m. He has won several Berkshire County medals in these events. Harry supports the delivery of multi-event, sprints and bootcamp sessions.




UK Athletics trainer

Fun introduction
4-8 yrs
We offer 4-8 years old a great introduction to fitness and athletcs including sessions on balance, co-ordination & agility, speed & endurance with student to coach ratios to maximise effective teaching. Our sessions cost only £6.
Perfomance &
progress 9-14 yrs
As chidren's ability and concentration increases our 9-14 years sessions help progress fundamental skills enjoyed by the younger groups but with added technical points to develop performance. Our sessions cost only £6.
